Emigrated to New Zealand 1960
Started Pottery in 1964
While still working on her own, her main aim today is teaching others the craft of wheel work.
She sets high standards for herself and others. Her ability to inspire others to create and develop their skill has made her one of the most highly regarded teachers to this day.
She has work in many collections throughout New Zealand and overseas including Canterbury and Otago Museums, Foreign Affairs Department Wellington, Japanese and Brussels Embassies. In 1991 the Christchurch City Council presented Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth with one of Frederika’s large bowls and a large floor pot was presented by the Christchurch City Council to sister city Kurashiki in Japan.
