Blair Chamberlain

Born in 1978 Christchurch New Zealand. I completed my Bachelor of fine arts in 1999 from the Otago University of fine arts. I also completed a trade cert in painting and decorating. I lived in Australia for 9 years
I own and run a painting and decorating business called all aspects painting and decorating.

I have successfully exhibited my work sporadically over the past 20 years in solo shows, group shows abroad and locally.

I have had work collected for private and public collections throughout New Zealand as well as internationally.

Within my practice, I work with mixed media mainly Inspired and sourced from my painting and decorating business.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Comfort, Control sense of order, what acts as a shield against the unpredictability and lurking chaos of the outside world.  My recent work is an examination of this shield and the form it takes the questions, my attitude, fears and unwritten rules that I have formed through my environment and behavior within it.
