Nachiko Schollum

Nachiko Schollum is a ceramic artist from Toko, Japan. She comes from a family of accomplished painters, calligraphers, and textile artists. Her passions including painting, fibre art and music which she has incorporated into her ceramic creations. Nachiko’s current focus is hand-build studies of animal or human subjects, which often have a narrative inscribed on them that is inspired by current events or ideas from magazines. Her works are often humorous or provocative and are crafted with skill and care. Nachiko has won awards at local exhibitions and has been a finalist in a variety of national ceramic exhibitions.   She continues to develop her skills and hope that her small desk-top size “studies” will provoke cheer and conversation wherever they are seen.
